REMINDERS, VOCABULARY, HOMEWORK AND LESSON PLANS FOR WEEK OF APRIL 27-MAY 1

REMINDERS

1. The mass on Wednesday will be led by the second grade students.

2. There will be quizzes on Friday, May 1.

3. Summer uniform guidelines will begin May 1.

- SECOND GRADE: SOCIAL STUDIES
   Vocabulary words: democratic, jury system,trial, court, judge, lawyer and verdict.
   Notes: requirements to be part of the jury and the process of picking a juror
   Next quiz will be on vocabulary words; plaintiff, defendant, unanimous and deliberation.
   Notes: What happens during a case and what happens at at the end of the trial.

-THIRD GRADE: READING
   Vocabulary words: #1-3 only; cause, effect, tall tale and reading comprehension
   Next reading quiz will include words # 4-11 from this week and reading comprehension.

REMINDERS, VOCABULARY , HOMEWORK AND LESSONS FOR WEEK OF APRIL 20-24

REMINDERS

1. STUDENTS IN  THIRD AND  FOURTH GRADE WILL BE TAKING THE MATH STATE EXAM THIS WEEK. STARTING ON WEDNESDAY APRIL 22- FRIDAY 24.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS AT LEAST THREE NUMBER 2 PENCILS. NO MECHANICAL PENCILS, BECAUSE TEACHERS WILL NOT HAVE EXTRA LEAD AND WILL NOT DISTURB OTHERS TO GET LEAD.

2.Friday April 24 is quarter 3 report card day. Students will be dismiss at 12 O'Clock.

3. Report card meetings are from 2-7 pm. There will be a  limited time of 5 minutes per parents, so everyone gets a chance and we can end on time. If you have questions on specific assignments , an appointment should be made with that teacher for a later day.

REMINDERS

4. base word: word that can be used alone and can be used with suffixes to change meaning. Example; park or help
5. suffix: small word part added at the end of the word to change the meaning. Example: er, ing, ed. park becomes parking, or help becomes helper.

2. jury system: system where 12 people listen to facts and determine if someone is guilty or not.
