REMINDERS, VOCABULARY, HOMEWORK AND LESSON PLANS FOR WEEK OF FEBRUARY 29-MARCH 4

REMINDERS

1. HOMEWORK SCHEDULE is as follow;
          Monday and Wednesday : Mrs.Bagley and Mr.Badia
          Tuesday and Thursday : Ms. Saville

2. VOCABULARY WORDS will be given and written during class time and will also be listed on the lesson plan and on a link at the end of this post.

3. EXTENDED DAY: Extended Day classes held after school are completed. In reviewing the test data from the Interim Tests for students in grades 3-8 Mr. Woods determined that the majority of students have attained the goals of the extended day program.
Therefore, the Mathematics and ELA extended day classes will not be held for the remainder of the school year. Students should continue to use IXL and Achieve 3000 for at least 20 minutes a day at home to guarantee success on the NYS tests. 

4. EXAM:

5.MAP A MONTH: Will be given on March 1.If this is not done it receives a zero on projects.

6. WEEK CHANGE:

HOMEWORK FOR FEBRUARY 29, 2016


SECOND GRADE:
1.Using the printout you have based on the African American person I assigned to you two weeks ago write a 5-6 sentence paragraph explaining why they are important.
- Begin with full heading.
-Skip a line and write Important African American Person: Name of the person
-Skip a line indent and begin ;Name was an African American_________(leader, hero, artist etc.)
-Add sentences with details as to why they are important.
*WE WENT OVER THIS IN CLASS.


THIRD GRADE:
1.In your social studies notebook define the following words
congress: the part of our government that makes laws.
minority;group that contains fewer people.
pioneer:person or group that is the first to do something.
term:period of time that is assigned to a person to serve.


FOURTH GRADE:
1.Define the following words using your social studies textbook in your social studies notebook.
Industry, tanning, Industrial Revolution, factory, landscape, immigrant, famine and Croton Aqueduct.
