Read to Succeed Reading Contest from Achieve

During their Achieve 3000 class, the class accumulated the most points for achieving 75% or highers on their reading activities. Due to this the class was awarded a pizza party from Achieve 3000, which took place today Friday April 29.

Congratulations third grade ! Keep it up!

REMINDERS

1.HOMEWORK SCHEDULE is as follow;

2. VOCABULARY WORDS - Words will be given in  class with definition, some will be define for homework. Below are links for each grade vocabulary words for module 4. 


3.FOLDERS: folders with reading and social studies work from quarter 3 was sent home on Friday April 22. Please go through the folder with your child and save test and quizzes that will be helpful when studying for the final exams in June 
5.Map of the Month will be given out on Monday April 25th and will be due May 18th.

SECOND GRADE:
1.social studies: In NYC, all taxes combine is 8.875 percent, which we learned in class would be 9 cents per dollar. 
A. Pretend that you are going to a restaurant and that you are buying TWO items.
B. write the name of the two items and how much they cost
C.Remember for each dollar that the item cost you are paying 9 cents in taxes, so how much are the two items in total with tax. 
*this was covered in class- try your best.

1.Social  studies: Complete the thought question for the article "A New Map for Gardeners". ( This was Monday's classwork, most are done, but if you are not this is the last chance to do so).
2.Social studies: complete though question  and activity for Achieve 3000 article "Remember Me?"- Due Friday April 29.
3.If did not get to do Mondays hw using the last chapter of The Stories Julian Tells, do it tonight. Look at Mondays hw post.

REMINDERS

3. Report card meetings for quarter three is this Friday April 22 from 1-7 pm. Please adhere to 5 minute meetings in order to accommodate everyone. Any questions on specific assignments, quizzes, projects etc for a specific teacher should be discussed in a separate meeting that can be made with Alba.

4.Tuesday April 19 is Reconciliation for those students in the reconciliation program. Parents are welcomed. You may take your child out for lunch, if you wish. Your child is to dress up (no jeans/no sneakers), if they are receiving reconciliation. Everyone else wears regular full uniform.

REMINDERS FOR FRIDAY APRIL 15

Students needs to wear regular full uniform. No play clothes. BUT students can wear play clothes on Monday April 18 instead.

The deadline to apply for an audition is FRIDAY APRIL 15 and the auditions will take place in the following weeks.

BAPTISM ON TUESDAY APRIL 12, 2016

There are students receiving the sacrament of Baptism on Tuesday April 12, 2016. The students receiving Baptism were asked to choose some friends to share this special moment with. Those chosen  students were informed and should wear dress up clothes. This applies to 2nd grade to 4th grade.
