REMINDERS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK AND THE VACATION

SECOND GRADE

- Second grade has packed up their books today. Everything they took home today will need to stay at home for the break.

- Thursday is report card meetings from 2-7 pm. All teachers will meet with each parent at the same time. Discussion of specific work can be discussed through appointments with the specific teacher after the break if need be. Each parent will get approximately 5 minutes. 

- Work from class was sent home yesterday, today and somethings tomorrow. 

-  Homework for the break will be posted on the blog by this Friday April 11

- On Friday students will have a small party after stations of the cross. The list below tells you what you need to bring. Children are also allowed to dress up, no jeans no sneakers. Dismissal is at 11am. NO AFTERSCHOOL.

-  A OR B OR C BRING IN JUICE ( INDIVIDUAL CONTAINERS PLEASE)
- D, E,F,G, H, I, J BRING IN CHIPS
- M, N, O, P, Q, R BRING IN COOKIES
- S BRING IN PLATES 
- V AND W BRING IN LARGE SIZE ZIP LOCK BAGS SO STUDENTS CAN TAKE LEFT OVERS ( You may not want left overs, but students like to take it home) 



THIRD GRADE 

- Homework: Finish the classwork from class( social studies - comparing communities ) This will be collected tomorrow. 

- Homework: Answer the questions on the back of the reading worksheet given Little By Little

FOURTH GRADE 
- Homework: Finish your dialogue ( either is play form or through comic strip)- this will not be collected until we come back as it's part of project we will be doing with the book Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. 

- Spring break homework will be from that book and will be posted on the blog by Monday April 14. 

- During the book fair children were told to buy a book. If they did not buy it , please but during break, we will be using it when we come back during social studies class. The book is What was the underground Railroad?

SECOND GRADE: READING WORKSHEET 

THIRD GRADE: ON LOOSELEAF EXPLAIN THE FIRST 5 AMENDMENTS (THEY ARE IN YOUR SOCIAL STUDIES NOTEBOOK) IN YOUR OWN WORDS. 

FOURTH GRADE: USING CHAPTER 6 FROM TALES OF A FOURTH GRADE NOTHING  AND ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS. 

1. Who is the shoe salesman that Peter's mother liked? Why? 

2. How did the mother feel when out with Fudge? Use two details to support your answer.

HOMEWORK FOR MARCH 31, 2014

SECOND GRADE: Read Papa Tells Chita a Story and complete the story map worksheet I gave you.

THIRD GRADE AND FOURTH GRADE : THERE IS NO HOMEWORK DUE TO TEST.

REMINDERS FOR THIRD AND FOURTH GRADE

1. GET A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP AND EAT A HEARTY BREAKFAST.

2. GET TO SCHOOL ON TIME AS WE ARE STARTING AT 8:30 AM.

3. IF YOU DID NOT BRING IN YOUR NUMBER TWO PENCILS TODAY, MAKE SURE YOU BRING THEM IN TOMORROW.

4. I RECOMMEND YOU ALSO BRING A PERSONAL SHARPENER AND ERASER.

5. PENCILS MUST BE REGULAR NUMBER 2 ( MEANING NO MECHANICAL, MR.BADIA AND I  DO NOT HAVE LEAD TO GIVE AND DO NOT PLAN TO STOP THE OTHER STUDENTS TO FIND YOUR CHILD LEAD DURING THE TEST.

THIRD AND FOURTH GRADE

This week students are taking the NYS ELA Exam. This test will be given in three parts lasting three days; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 

REMINDERS FOR TEST
1. STUDENTS MUST GET TO SCHOOL ON TIME AND SHOULD HAVE A HEARTY BREAKFAST. 

2. THEY MUST HAVE A NUMBER TWO PENCILS WITH ERASERS AND A PERSONAL SHARPENER. 

3. I WILL START TO COLLECT PENCILS ON MONDAY, TO BE PREPARED FOR TUESDAY.

HOMEWORK FOR MARCH 25, 2014

THIRD GRADE: Read the text The Poplar Tree and answer the two short response questions. These are to be answer in 2-3 sentences with two details from the text. For clarity purpose, students must put one details for sentence. When done with answering the questions make sure to reread for clarity and that each answer has two separate details.



FOURTH GRADE: Read Why the Evergreen Never Lose Their Leaves and Why Are Evergreen Trees Green All Year Long and answer the two short response questions.These are to be answer in 2-3 sentences with two details from the text. For clarity purpose, students must put one details for sentence. When done with answering the questions make sure to reread for clarity and that each answer has two separate details.

* Fourth grade homework was given back with comments. Read with over with your child.


SECOND GRADE : Use the reading workbook pages A13-A16 and do questions #1-18. This is be done on looseleaf with full heading and must explain the homework assignment. See Below for example. Only Letter answers. Use the textbook and the story Lon Po Po for help, story was read in class.
