- Social studies test on chapter 5 comparing communities. 
-Study weekly vocabulary words.
-Children need 2 pieces of light color construction paper. ( No black, brown, dark blue or dark green or red, the children will be writing on the paper). 

Friday 4/1/2011
- Weekly vocabualry test.
- Stations of the cross at 10:30, parents welcome.
- Half a day, dismissal at 12:00.

-Students will need color pencils or crayons, construction paper, scissors and glue for Tuesday. Please make sure you child is prepare with these materials.

Wednesday 3/30/2011
- Reading homework: Create a paragraph using any 5 out of the 15 vocabualry words.Paragraph must be about one topic only and completed on looseleaf.
- As we are learning about our nation's capital , the students need small pictures of famous and important places in Washington D.C. Please make sure the pictures are  no larger than 3 x 5 , preferably more images of smaller size. 
-Children also need a piece of light color construction paper, glue stick and a picture of their favorite fruit.

Advertising – information provided to encourage the purchase or use of a good, service or idea by emphasizing its positive qualities.

Allegiance – devotion or loyalty.

Bar Graph – a means of displaying data using the length of “bars” to represent the values of the data being displayed.

Campaign – the overall effort a candidate makes to win votes through speeches, press conferences, and advertising.

Century – one hundred years.
