2ND 3RD AND 4TH GRADE LESSON PLANS FOR WEEK OF MAY 5-9

MONDAY MAY 5
-  Check Reminders below!
2nd grade hw:
-Reading: Complete introduction paragraph ( 2 sentences with information about the topic and 1 stating your opinion).
- Social studies: Define the following words using the textbook in your notebook: main idea and pioneers.

3rd grade hw:
-Create the outline for an opinion essay on something you care about. The outline should only include:
I.  Introduction
a. background information
b. opinion

II. Reasons
a. Reason 1
b. Reason 2
c. Reason 3

- NO DETAILS FOR THE REASON, BUT YOU MUST LEAVE SPACE FOR THAT ON YOUR LOOSELEAF. WE WILL ADD DETAILS IN CLASS TOMORROW.

4th grade hw:
-Social studies textbook. Read pages 190-195 and answer Think about it questions 1-4 in notebook. Questions and answers.


TUESDAY MAY 6

-These notes go in the social studies notebook. Either print and attache to page with aim from today or write under the aim from today.


WEDNESDAY MAY 7- NYSELAT listening
2ND GRADE HW:
-Phonics book page 75- Have someone read it to you and then they can ask you the questions on the bottom. You are to answer the questions based on what you heard on looseleaf.
-Phonics book page -137- Read about the Statue of Liberty and answer the questions from the bottom of the page on the same looseleaf from above.
ALSO , IF ARE STILL WORKING ON YOUR SHORT ESSAY IN YOUR NOTEBOOK, FINISH. TOMORROW IS THE FOURTH AND LAST TIME  TO REVISE AND YOU WILL WORK ON FINAL DRAFT. CLICK BELOW IF YOU NEED HELP TO REMIND YOU THE RULES.

3RD GRADE HW:
- Social Studies: Define the following words in your notebook using the textbook; fort, watchman, inhabitant. Read pages 230-235 and answer the following questions in your notebook.
A. Explain what did Peter Stuyvesant force people to do and why.
B. Who became the first police force in America? What were their jobs? Why were they called rattlewatch?
C. How were girls and boys treated differently in school? What was the schoolmasters job?

ALSO IF YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO FINISH THE WORK FROM TUESDAY , CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND FINISH IT. I WILL CHECK IT AND GRADE AND IT WILL BE PART OF YOUR NOTES.

4TH GRADE HW:
- Write one paragraph describing what a hero is. Six sentences and on looseleaf. This will be part of your introduction paragraph for an essay about a hero you will be working on tomorrow in class. DO NOT PICK A HERO, JUST DESCRIBE WHAT A HERO SHOULD BE ( NOT A SUPER HERO. A NORMAL HUMAN).

REMINDERS 

1. Bring in sharpened pencils to school along with erasers, personal sharpener.
2. Students will take NYSELAT listening on Wednesday and the writing on Friday.
3. Make sure homework is completed and given in when due.
4. No late homework will be accepted pass the day it is due.
5. If the child does not have the homework when they are in class, it is their responsibility to come back and hand in by the end of the day.
