Second grade sequence assignment for Watermelon day

The following is what the second grade students worked on in class. 2-2 students begun this in class, while 2-1 had gym and copied the information , but didn't work on putting it together. The students have been given instructions on how to complete this assignment. They are to have each section ( beginning, middle, and end) on a separate piece of paper. So you must have three. The title can be on a separate piece of paper or on the beginning. Each section needs a picture to illustrate the event. Check out the pictures on the side that show the example. It's being graded on having the three parts of the plot, tittle and creativity. I don't expect two projects to look the same. BE CREATIVE!

Beginning: Jesse finds the watermelon the size of her fist. She shows it to Pappy and he says "it will be ready on watermelon day" .

Middle: Jesse keeps on checking on the watermelon to see if its ripe. She also keeps asking her pappy, when it will be ready.

Ending: The watermelon is ripe on watermelon day. She eats the juicy and sweet watermelon.

Reading textbook poicy

As you know reading textbooks cannot be taken home anymore. Readers are meant to use in class, for the purpose of copying vocabulary words and finishing work classwork at home , I allowed students to take books home. Due to missing books, it has been decided to revert back to using the textbooks only at school. With that being said the vocabulary words from the stories will be posted on the blog and it will be your child's responsibility to copy them onto index cards and bring them in the date specified.

Thank you,

Mrs.Bagley
