delicate: very light and pleasant to taste or feel. Finely made.

delicious: tasty, very pleasing to taste.

extra: more than the usual amount.

general:not details; applying to many things.

possible: might happen or be true.

powerful: strong. Having great power.

simple: easy , not hard.

useful: helpful; can be used a lot.

Vocabulary words for the story " Because of Winn-Dixie"

- HW: Copy the vocabulary words from "Because of winn dixie" onto your reading notebook or on index cards" ( For studying purposes its better on index cards but some students have been loosing them , so for those notebook would be a better option in order to have them for later use.
- Also make sure to copy the weekly vocabulary words into the vocabulary notebook.

MIDTERM REVIEW FOR THIRD GRADE

THIRD  GRADE WILL GO OVER THE UNIT EXAMS 1 AND 2 AND CORRECT THE TEST. THEY WILL TAKE THE TEST HOME ON FRIDAY AS A MEANS TO STUDY. THE TESTS WILL NOT  BE SENT HOME IN THE FOLDER, SO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD BRINGS THEIR HOMEWORK FOLDER TO SCHOOL, SO THEY CAN PLACE THE TEST PAPERS IN THERE FOR SAFE KEEPING.

THE TEST WILL BE ON THURSDAY , JANUARY 12. 

THE FOLLOWING WILL BE COVERED ON THE MIDTERM EXAM FOR READING;


- know and identify the cause and effect
- know the meaning of prefixes ( on their own and with a word, ex. Un means not and unhappy means not happy)
- know and be able to identify different authors purposes
- Story map: Characters,setting, and  plot ( problem/solution and sequence of events).
- main idea and supporting details
- The vocabulary words from the following stories; Turtle bay, Rocking and Rolling , If you made a million, Pepita talks twice, and Talent show.

STUDENTS WILL TAKE THEIR UNIT 17 SPELLING TEST TOMORROW, FRIDAY THE 6TH.

STUDENTS WERE TOLD ABOUT THIS YESTERDAY AND WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THEIR NOTEBOOKS HOME TO STUDY.

THIRD GRADE GYM CLASSES

REGULAR GYM CLASSES FOR THIRD GRADE HAVE BEEN CHANGED FROM THURSDAY TO FRIDAY. UNLESS THERE IS AN IRIS MESSAGE SAYING OTHERWISE, ( LIKE TODAY), GYM UNIFORMS ARE TO BE WORN ON FRIDAYS.

MIDTERM REVIEW FOR FOURTH GRADE

- Be able to analyze/ critique poems ( know what the figurative language and what its trying to tell you)
- the skill of drawing conclusion
- the skill of main idea and supporting details
- analyzing a character( knowing what they say, do, what people think of them and analysis)
