Vocabulary words for week of January 9-13

1.Accident- Something not planned that may cause someone or something to be hurt.

2.Adventure- an exciting time doing something unusual.

3.Building- a large structure with walls and a roof.

4.Field- open land for playing sports or growing crops.

5.Group- a number of people or things that go together.

6.Hobby- something a person does for fun during free time.

7.Lawn- an area by a house covered with grass.

8.Neighbor- a person who lives next door to you or near you.

9.Service- a kind of business or work that helps others.

10.Accept=to take something that you are offered.

11.Admire- to like and respect someone or something.

12.Behave- to act properly or well.

13.Celebrate- to do something for a special occasion.

14.Discourage- to try to keep people from trying to do something.

15.Enjoy- to get pleasure from doing something.

16.Imagine- to picture something in your mind.

17.Interrupt- 1.to stop for a short period of time 2. to break in when someone else is talking or working.

18.Trust- to believe in someone or have confidence in someone.

19.Provide- to supply the things that someone needs.

20. Judge- 1. someone who decides the winner of a contest 2. someone who decides whether someone is guilty.
