REMINDERS, LESSON PLANS, HOMEWORK AND VOCABULARY WORDS FOR WEEK OF DECEMBER 12-16

REMINDERS


1.HOMEWORK SCHEDULE is as follow;
          Monday and Wednesday : Mrs. Bagley and Mr. Badia
          Tuesday and Thursday : Ms. Saville

2. VOCABULARY WORDS - Words are given in class with definition, some will be define for homework. As we add reading and social studies words, they will be added to the links below. Check out the links below.


3.MATERIALS: Second graders need at least 3 sharpened pencils. 


4.Map of the Month are for third (Canada) and fourth (European Explorers) grade only and they are due December 14. 


5.UPCOMING EVENTS:

-Map of the month for 3rd and 4th are due December 14!
-Native American Heritage Projects are due December 14!- Just so I can preview them before presentations. Also Third and fourth can send them to me through Google classroom, if they want to give feedback prior to due date. 

6.Scholastic books: Flyers will be sent home periodically for students/parents to order books that they want. If any of the books we will need during the year are listed there I would ask for that book specifically. Otherwise it is a personal choice if you want to order. If you want to order books outside of the time I place  orders you can CLICK HERE TO BE DIRECTED TO SCHOLASTIC WEBSITE and then click on yellow section to connect with teacher and enter class code: LJ8KK. Orders for this month are due DECEMBER 12- no later because then orders won't arrive before Christmas break.

EXTENDED DAY:    Monday -4th grade with Mr.Pacido(math)
                                   Wednesday-4th grade with me (reading)
                                   Wednesday -3rd grade with Mr.Badia (math)
                                   Thursday -3rd grade with me (reading)



8. QUIZZES: 
Monday December 12
-Social studies quiz 4th grade




9. Native American Heritage Presentation for third and fourth grade are due December 15. Look at older post for information about what is needed. The information is also posted on our Google Classroom. Remember you are using Google presentation under your school google email. NOT YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL. Second graders are creating dioramas , look at the older post for information about the requirements.

10. Students in third and fourth grade have been using Google Classroom very often, please help them remember their username and password. Login information should also be written at home in a safe places along with the login information for Achieve, IXL and I-ready. Although second grade is only using this sometimes, they also have usernames and passwords.

Username:first initial last name @olqmnyc.org. Example; John Smith would be jsmith@olqmnyc.org

Passwords: everyone's password was set to olqmnyc1, but it might be different if your child changed it.

LESSON PLANS



HOMEWORK FOR DECEMBER 12, 2016

SECOND GRADE: 
Social Studies: Use the red book "Comparing Communities". Page 144 "Remembering What You Read" sections # 2, 3, and 6 ONLY. Copy the questions and answer on looseleaf.


THIRD GRADE:  
Social Studies: 
Reading:Read chapter 7 from the book Dragon of the Red Dawn and complete the recording sheet.


FOURTH GRADE:
Social Studies: Go on classroom.google.com and answer the questions that are posted. Click open on the assignment and wait a few seconds. It will automaticaly create a document with the name of the assignemnt and your name. Once done  you can click on the buttom "turn in" located on the top right hand corner of the document.

HOMEWORK FOR DECEMBER 14, 2016

SECOND GRADE: 
Reading: Your homework will be given over the weekend as you are probably stil working on your projects. 

THIRD GRADE:
Reading:  Reading:Read chapter 10 from the book Dragon of the Red Dawn and complete the recording sheet.

FOURTH GRADE:
Reading:  Complete presentation and complete missing work on Google classroom. Make sure you click submit work.
