REMINDERS, LESSON PLANS, HOMEWORK AND VOCABULARY WORDS FOR WEEK OF OCTOBER 24-27

REMINDERS

1.HOMEWORK SCHEDULE: It is posted by each individual teacher. Make sure to check http://olqmnyc-msramsey.blogspot.com/ for science (for 2nd grade) and social studies (for 3rd grade) and http://olqmnyc-mrbadia.blogspot.com/ for 2nd and 3rd grade math.


2. VOCABULARY WORDS -Vocabulary words are assigned for the week on the blog as homework to be copied into the ELA notebook and then will be quizzed on the following week. The Religion words are within the religion book, therefore they are not copied separate into the notebook. Social studies word will be assigned to be copied within notebook on homework days.

3.MATERIALS: ALL students need at least 3 sharpened pencils. Many students can't even find a working pencil when they arrive at school.

4.UPCOMING EVENTS:
-3rd grade Vocabulary Quiz on vocabulary words (week of October 10-13) on Tuesday October 24.
-3rd grade Religion Quiz on chapter 3 on October 25.
-2nd grade ELA vocabulary quiz on October 25
-2nd grade Religion Quiz on chapter 3 on October 26.
-2nd grade Social Studies quiz on communities on October 27.

HOMEWORK FOR TUESDAY  OCTOBER 24, 2017- Recheck the Quiz schedule above
-2nd grade Religion:Review chapter 3 and make sure that pages 52,53 and 54 are completed. Quiz will be on Thursday.

-2nd grade Social Studies: Define the following words in your social studies notebook using the textbook: settlement, museum, history, immigrant, native Americans and gristmill. 


-3rd grade Religion: Review religion chapter 3.

-
3rd grade ELA: Readers Writers Journal (RWJ) page 38 (top only). If you do not have the book the question is : On a separate sheet of paper, write a brief narrative that introduces a character, problem, explains the character's solution to the problem, and provides a sense of closure. (Just like the example we did in class). It should be 5-8 sentences and it should not be written without stating, the characters are, the problem is etc. 





HOMEWORK FOR THURSDAY OCTOBER 26, 2017
-2nd grade Religion: Review chapter 3 for quiz tomorrow.

-3rd grade ELA: Start a story board where you draw three images along with three sentences. These three sentences are the beginning, middle and end of your story where, you had fear and then you overcame it and became courageous. THINK ABOUT THE STORY BOARD I CREATED IN CLASS THIS AFTERNOON.
