HW: Copy vocabulary words into reading and social studies notebook.
HW: Read "When water meets air" and "When water flows up" and determine the main idea and supporting details.
* Students will receive a hardcover book today called "A drop of water", they will keep the book until Wednesday of this week. The book must be returned or you will have to pay $20.

READING VOCABULARY WORDS:
1. molecules: tiny particles.
2. main idea: the most important idea in a text.
3. supporting details: test evidence that suports the main idea.
4. introduction: the beggining of a written text.
5. elastic: something that can expand and shrink back to its normal size.

SOCIAL STUDIES VOCABULARY WORDS
1. mountain ranges: a group of mountains.
2. plain: flat land.
3. desert: land where little rain falls and few plants grow.
4. river: long , flowing bosy of water.
5. island: body of land with water all around it.
6. peninsula: body of land with water almost all around it.
7. coal: a brown/black rock that formed in the earth from things that were once living.
8. oil: a liquid that comes from the earth and is used to produce heat or provide power.
9. mining: way resources are taken out of the ground.
10. lumbering: the cutting of trees and preparing the logs for sale.
11. trawler: a boat that uses a net, or trawl to catch fish and shellfish.
12. lake: body of water with land all around it.
