REMINDERS, HOMEWORK, LESSON PLANS AND VOCABULARY WORDS FOR WEEK OF MARCH 7-11

REMINDERS

1. HOMEWORK SCHEDULE is as follow;
          Monday and Wednesday : Mrs.Bagley and Mr.Badia
          Tuesday and Thursday : Ms. Saville

2. VOCABULARY WORDS will be given and written during class time and will also be listed on the lesson plan and on a link at the end of this post.

3. THERE IS NO MORE EXTENDED DAY.

4. EXAM:
-Tuesday March 8
SECOND GRADE: reading comprehension
THIRD GRADE: reading comprehension
FOURTH GRADE: reading comprehension

-Thursday March 10
SECOND GRADE:SS-Rosa Parks and vocabulary words
THIRD GRADE: SS- on Maya Angelou and vocabulary words
FOURTH GRADE: SS- pages 166-173  and 178-183 along with the section vocabulary words.


5.MAP A MONTH:THIRD grade received their map on Thursday March 3 and FOURTH grade received their map on Friday March 4th. It is due March 18th.

6. WEEK CHANGE:
A.Stations of the Cross on Friday March 11th at 8:30am.
B.Half a day: dismissal at 12:30pm.
C.Next week there will be module 3b exams.
D. No after school on March 18th (this is the last day before Easter Break). School resumes April 4th.


7.ACHIEVE 3000: When a student submits a though question or written response, it will get graded and then the comments I make will be emailed to the students Achieve 3000 mailbox.

8.STATE EXAMS: 3rd - 8th grade ELA exams are on April 5-7 and 3rd -8th grade Math exams are on April 12-14.

HOMEWORK FOR MARCH 7, 2016

SECOND GRADE:
1.Copy the following words with definition into your social studies notebook; integrate, psychologist.Use the vocabulary link at the end of this post to find the definition.

2.On looseleaf, in 3-4 sentences explain what you know about Ruby Bridges.

THIRD GRADE:
1.Copy the following words with definition into your social studies notebook:athlete, fame, investigate, opportunity. The definitions are found on the vocabulary link at the bottom of this post.

2.Copy the following words with definition into your reading notebook: social, context clues, and communicate.The definitions are found on the vocabulary link at the bottom of this post.

3.Complete the though question for "Three Great Women" on Achieve 3000.
*Vocabulary words are due TOMORROW Tuesday March 8.
*Though questions is due Wednesday March 9.



FOURTH GRADE:
1.Define the following words in your reading notebook; emancipation, massacre, reimbursed, delegate, precise, full-fledged, invoked, frantic, enlist. The definition are in the vocabulary link found at the bottom of this post.

2.Define the following words in your social studies notebook using the textbook; reform, citizen, abolition,Underground Railroad.

3.Do questions #5-7 from the packet given in class today using the article provided " An Incomplete Revolution".
