HOMEWORK:

2ND GRADE: Write the sight words 3 times each in your reading notebook ( Due Tomorrow) and read and answer the questions on the weekly reading sheet( Due Friday).

3RD GRADE; Write the sight words 3 times each in your reading notebook ( Due Tomorrow) and create a image of your face on the white paper ( I gave you) and write at least 5 character traits that describe you.

4TH GRADE:Write the sight words 3 times each in your reading notebook (Due Tomorrow)



TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 2014



WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2014- 2nd grade Gym
2ND GRADE: Complete phonics page 22 and read social studies book ( Living in Communities pages 32-35 and answer the skills check question from page 35 on looseleaf.
3RD GRADE: Use social studies book (Comparing Communities) and answer questions #1-2 using the book to help you find the answers on looseleaf.
4TH GRADE:Use the social studies textbook ( New York Adventures in time and place). Read page G8 ( How do you use a map scale?) Do what it tells you to do with the strip of paper and find out the distance between Stony Brook and Pottersville. Write the distance on a looseleaf and also bring in the strip of paper you used to measure with the marks you did.

VOCABULARY WORDS - Look above to see which ones apply to your grade.

- setting: the place and time the story takes place.
- plot: the events in the story( includes sequence of events, problem and solution)
- character traits: what a character is on the inside- their personality.
- non-fiction text features: features that aid in understanding of non-fiction text.
- diagrams: an illustration of an object or an inside look at what is being discussed by using labels.
- charts/graphs: an organized group of information presented in a clear visual way.
- timelines: information on a text explain in chronological order.
- maps: a visual image of a geographical feature.
