REMINDERS, LESSON PLANS, HOMEWORK AND VOCABULARY WORDS FOR WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 19-23

REMINDERS

1.HOMEWORK SCHEDULE is as follow;

          Monday and Wednesday : Mrs. Bagley and Mr. Badia
          Tuesday and Thursday : Ms. Saville

2. VOCABULARY WORDS - Words are given in class with definition, some will be define for homework. As we add reading and social studies words, they will be added to the links below. 


3.MATERIALS: Students should have their materials in by Monday. Some students are still missing folders and notebooks.  


4.Map of the Month  are for  third and fourth grade only. The map will be given at the end of this week and is due October 12. 


5.UPCOMING EVENTS:Extended day starts this week for third and fourth grade.


6.Scholastic books: Flyers will be sent home periodically for students/parents to order books that they want. If any of the books we will need during the year are listed there I would ask for that book specifically. Otherwise it is a personal choice if you want to order. 7.GYM is on Tuesday's for Third grade and Friday for Second grade. 

8.SUMMER READING for SECOND GRADE: The questions can be found at the top of the blog. We will start with  Poppleton in Winter next Monday September 19 and then with the second book on October 3. So if you have not finished either book, you still have time.

HOMEWORK FOR SEPTEMBER 19, 2016

SECOND GRADE:

1.Review Social studies vocabulary words and notes for quiz tomorrow. Words: communities, urban, suburb, urban notes, suburb notes and neighborhod. Use pages 32-35, 50-53 and 58-61 from Living in Communities textbook. 

2.Social Studies page 63 , section B. remembering what you need numbers 1-2 ONLY on looseleaf.

THIRD GRADE:

1.Review social studies vocabulary words for quiz tomorrow. Words: south pole, north pole, maps, map key, symbols, state, state capital and border. 

2.Reading:Read "A Dragon of Your Own"and answer the sections labeled "Monday" and "Friday"- Due tomorrow. 

FOURTH GRADE:

1.Review social studies vocabulary words for quiz tomorrow. Words: ocean, continent, hemisphere, the 7 continents, 5 oceans, equator, cardinal directions, compass rose, intermediate directions, symbol, map key. 

2.Reading:Read "Gwen's Music" and answer sections labeled "Monday" and "Friday"- Due Tomorrow

2.First social studies quiz is going home today. Make corrections and write three times on looseleaf. Make sure to get quiz sign as well.

1.Review reading vocabulary words for quiz tomorrow.

FOURTH GRADE:
