REMINDERS, LESSON PLANS, HOMEWORK AND VOCABULARY WORDS FOR WEEK OF OCTOBER 31- NOVEMBER 4

REMINDERS


1.HOMEWORK SCHEDULE is as follow;
          Monday and Wednesday : Mrs. Bagley and Mr. Badia
          Tuesday and Thursday : Ms. Saville

2. VOCABULARY WORDS - Words are given in class with definition, some will be define for homework. As we add reading and social studies words, they will be added to the links below. Check out the link s below.


3.MATERIALS: Some second grade students are still missing notebooks. Please make sure your child has 6 different notebooks. 


4.Map of the Month  are for  third and fourth grade only.  


5.UPCOMING EVENTS:Halloween party on October 31.Students should bring 2 bags of candy (one to distribute to the Pre-k and K students who parade on our floor and the other to distribute to their classmates). For THIRD GRADERS ONLY look below the homework - other grades look at your homeroom teacher's blog.


6.Scholastic books: Flyers will be sent home periodically for students/parents to order books that they want. If any of the books we will need during the year are listed there I would ask for that book specifically. Otherwise it is a personal choice if you want to order. If you want to order books outside of the time I place  orders you can CLICK HERE TO BE DIRECTED TO SCHOLASTIC WEBSITE and then click on yellow section to connect with teacher and enter class code: LJ8KK

7.GYM is on Tuesday for 4th graders, Thursday for 3rd graders and Friday for 2nd graders.


8.EXTENDED DAY:    Monday -4th grade with Mr.Pacido(math)
                                   Wednesday-4th grade with me (reading)
                                   Wednesday -3rd grade with Mr.Badia (math)
                                   Thursday -3rd grade with me (reading)



9. QUIZZES:
Friday  November 4th
4th grade: Social studies words; environment, renewable, nonrenewable, conservation, primary source, secondary source, archaeologist, prehistory, hunter-gatherer, and notes about the first people in New York.

Friday November 4th
2nd grade: Reading vocabulary words: inventions, sap, syrup, historical events, connected, voyage, treaty, harvest and survive. There will also be a comprehension section.

SECOND GRADE, THIRD GRADE AND FOURTH GRADE social studies: 

 Go onto Achieve 3000 and choose one article between the following to read and answer the activity questions. You are only to  CHOOSE ONE.

HOMEWORK FOR NOVEMBER 2, 2016

SECOND GRADE: 
Reading:  Use the social studies textbook and read page 200: What Makes a Great Leader? and answer questions #1-3 from page 201 under the "Thinking for Yourself" section. Do this on looseleaf. Copy and answer the questions. 
Social Studies: If you have not completed the Achieve 3000 homework from Monday, you must complete it today. Look under Monday October 31, to see the article you can choose from. 

THIRD GRADE:
Reading:  Complete Exercise #2.CLICK HERE FOR EXERCISE #2 You can print the article if you can or you can answer the questions on looseleaf. If you are doing it on looseleaf, then  you must write your name, date , exercise #2 and number the paper. Answer with the letter only. 
Social Studies: If you have not completed the Achieve 3000 homework from Monday, you must complete it today. Look under Monday October 31, to see the article you can choose from. 
Also some students are not finished article, "Sharing Mexico", if you have not finish it tonight as well. 

FOURTH GRADE:
Reading:Complete Exercise #21.CLICK HERE FOR EXERCISE#21 You can print the article if you can or you can answer the questions on looseleaf. If you are doing it on looseleaf, then  you must write your name, date , exercise #21 and number the paper. Answer with the letter only. 
Social Studies: If you have not completed the Achieve 3000 homework from Monday, you must complete it today. Look under Monday October 31, to see the article you can choose from.
