REMINDERS, LESSON PLANS, HOMEWORK AND VOCABULARY WORDS FOR WEEK OF OCTOBER 3-7

REMINDERS


1.HOMEWORK SCHEDULE is as follow;
          Monday and Wednesday : Mrs. Bagley and Mr. Badia
          Tuesday and Thursday : Ms. Saville

2. VOCABULARY WORDS - Words are given in class with definition, some will be define for homework. As we add reading and social studies words, they will be added to the links below. Check out the link s below.


3.MATERIALS: Some second grade students are still missing notebooks. Please make sure your child has 6 different notebooks. 


4.Map of the Month  are for  third and fourth grade only.  


5.UPCOMING EVENTS:Class picture on October 3. No school on Friday October 7th .


6.Scholastic books: Flyers will be sent home periodically for students/parents to order books that they want. If any of the books we will need during the year are listed there I would ask for that book specifically. Otherwise it is a personal choice if you want to order. 7.GYM is on Tuesday's for Third grade and Friday for Second grade. 


8.SUMMER READING for SECOND GRADE: The questions can be found at the top of the blog. We will start with  Poppleton in Winter next Monday September 19 and then with the second book on October 3. So if you have not finished either book, you still have time. 

9.EXTENDED DAY: Monday -4th grade with Mr.Pacido(math)
                                   Wednesday-4th grade with me (reading)
                                   Wednesday -3rd grade with Mr.Badia (math)
                                   Thursday -3rd grade with me (reading)


10. QUIZZES: More specific dates will be given.
    
         



LESSON PLANS


HOMEWORK FOR OCTOBER 3, 2016

SECOND GRADE:

Social Studies: Read pages 36-39 and then copy and  answer questions # 1 and 2 from page 39. Do this on looseleaf. 


THIRD GRADE:

Social Studies: Complete World Geography- Continents worksheet. Use the textbook to find a world map. 


FOURTH GRADE:

Social Studies: Complete the "Using and Conserving New York's Natural Resources" sheet. 



HOMEWORK FOR OCTOBER 5,  2016

SECOND GRADE:

Reading: On looseleaf write a sentence with each of the following words : rain forest, habitat, quills, and porcupette. So on looseleaf you should have 4 separate sentences, and each sentence uses one of the words above. The definition to the words can be found on the vocabulary link below. 


THIRD GRADE:

On looseleaf write down the name of the person for your Hispanic Heritage project and 3 important details; one is what country they are from, what they have done and a fun fact you learned about them so far.
