REMINDERS
1. Look at schools main blog page for gym schedule this week.

2. Students must have all needed school supplies; pencils, (lead if they only have mechanical pencils), erasers, sharpeners, looseleaf, etc.

3. Third grade social studies is sue Wednesday, must be ready to present.

4. Second grade needs a small poster board, crayons/color pencils, scissors, and glue for a project they will do in class on Tuesday.


HOMEWORK FOR FEBRUARY 24, 2014

SECOND GRADE: Copy reading words with definition into reading notebook from post below and define social studies words found in lesson plan using People Together textbook, also write one paragraph explaining the Holocaust using the text you have and what you learned from the book, Passage to Freedom and Sughira Story and also explaining the connection between this event and Ruby Bridges. The writing is to be done on looseleaf. ALL HOMEWORK WILL BE CHECKED WEDNESDAY.

THIRD GRADE: Copy reading words with definition into reading notebook from post below and define social studies words found in lesson plan using Comparing Communities textbook. Keep working on Urban community project due WEDNESDAY- NO EXCUSES.

FOURTH GRADE: Copy reading words with definition into reading notebook from post below and define social studies words found in lesson plan. Also read chapter 2 and 3 from Stuart Little ( book will given in class) and answer the following questions:
1.  In Chapter Two, Mr. and Mrs. Little discuss five problems they saw existed in their home that related to Stuart. In a paragraph, list the five problems and solutions that were discussed by Mr. and Mrs. Little.
2. What did Stuart have to do to turn on the light and to get up to the washbasin?
3. How did Stuart turn on the water and what did the noise cause?
4. Why was Snowbell showing her teeth to Stuart?
5. What happened when Stuart tried to prove how strong he was to Snowbell?

*VOCABULARY WORDS WILL NOT BE CHECKED UNTIL WEDNESDAY, BUT IT'S IMPORTANT TO DO THE READING FROM THE BOOK AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS AS, STUDENTS WILL MOVE ON TO CHAPTER 4-5 IN CLASS ON WEDNESDAY.
